Poly-acrylic-acidDescription:

Plastic that is produced by peroxide-catalysed polymerisation of acrylic acid in aqueous solution or by hydrolysing poly-acrylic-acid-chloride or poly-acrylic-amide. Pure poly-acrylic-acid can be obtained as a fine, odorless white powder that is well soluble in water but insoluble in organic solvents and non-thermoplastic.


Usage:

The sodium and ammonium salts are often used as glazing and sizing agents in the textile industry; as additives for coating compounds, as flocculant for processing effluents and as tanning agents in the leather industry.
