Polyethylenenaphthalate (PEN)

Polyethylenenaphthalate (PEN)Description:

Polyester which is very similar to PET but more temperature-resistant. PEN is a semi-crystalline and transparent plastic with an either crystal-clear or sometimes slightly milky appearance. Furthermore, PENs feature a higher resistance to UV-radiation and better barrier capacities than PET. In contact with aqueous-alkaline media and when exposed to very high temperatures, PENs are more stable and less sensitive towards hydrolysis than PET.

Usage:

PENs are mainly used for electric devices and in the electronic engineering.
