Poly-Vinylalcohol (PVA)

Poly-Vinylalcohol (PVA)Description:

PVA is synthesised either by polymerisation-analogue reactions or on a large scale by transesterification and hydrolysis of vinylacetates in alkaline media (preferred solvent: methanol). It is a white high-molecular compound which is soluble in water but insoluble in ordinary organic solvents. Raw PVA exists as a white, flocculent solid. It features excellent resilience concerning tensile stress, mouldability, impact strength, wear resistance and electrical insulation properties./p>

Usage:

Source material for the production of coatings and adhesives as well as for pulp finishing agents, soil ameliorator, films, polyvinyl butyral, etc.
