Description:
Amorphous, flavourless and odourless plastic which is obtained by radical polimerisation or, on a large scale, by emulsifying polymerisation of acidic acid vinyl ester. This polymer is unsoluble in water but well soluble in ketones, esters, ethers, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarobons. Pure vinylacetate exists in form of emulsions or colourless beads. Because of its low softening temperature it is not suitable for producing moulding components but instead well compatible with diluents. In form of coatings, it can be easily applied on a variety of surfaces. In addition to that, PV-acetate is non-fading and weather-resistant.
