Polyethyleneglycol

PolyethylenglykolDescription:

These plastics are produced by cationic or anionic polymersation of ethyleneoxide. Depending on their molecular weight, they are obtained in form of either colourless, viscous, high boiling fluids (up to a molecular weight of approx. 600) or as colourless, ceraceous products. PE-glycols are well soluble not only in water but also in many organic solvents such as alcohols, ketones and esters. In contrast to that, they are insoluble in pure alkanes.

Usage:

  • High-molecular polyethyleneglycols:
    • thickening agents
    • diluents
    • resources in textile industry
    • additives for laquers
  • Fluid PE-glycols:
    • components of medical compunds and cosmetics
    • solvents
    • extracting agents
    • anti-blocking agents
    • heat transferring media
    • wetting agents
